Objectives, Outcomes & Accreditation

PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

The Program Educational Objectives of the Electrical Engineering Program are to bring together the faculty, staff, and capital resources to:

  1. Prepare our students for successful and productive engineering careers with attention to ethical standards and effective communication;
  2. Prepare our students for the successful pursuit of graduate studies in electrical engineering and other professional fields;
  3. Prepare our students to be active participants in professional engineering organizations.

STUDENT OUTCOMES

  1. an ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering
  2. an ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data
  3. an ability to design a system, component, or process to meet desired needs
  4. an ability to function on multi-disciplinary teams
  5. an ability to identify, formulate, and solve engineering problems
  6. an understanding of professional and ethical responsibility
  7. an ability to communicate effectively
  8. the broad education necessary to understand the impact of engineering solutions in a global and societal context

Our program leading to the Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (B.S.E.E.) degree is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, www.abet.org.
