Commemorative Prayer Service for Vatican II
Wednesday, October 10, 2012, 12:00pm
On October 11, 1962, the Roman Catholic Church "Opened the Windows" as articulated by then-Pope John XXIII, initiated a need for a second Vatican Council. While he didn't see to live it into reality, Pope Paul VI carried the mandate out. This month we commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Vatican Council and will observe it with a commemorative prayer service on Wednesday (October 10) in Sabbatini Lounge at 12:00 noon. Dr. David Dault (Religion & Philosophy) will lead the prayer service. All are welcome! Later in the academic year, a Round Table Discussion will be conducted with a keynote speaker noted for study and research on the outcomes of Vatican II. These events are sponsored by the Religion & Philosophy Department, the Office of Mission & Identity, Campus Ministry and the Special Assistant to the President.
