Here are the basics that you need to know about Scholarships before deciding whether this is a Financial Assistance option you would like to pursue:

Scholarships don't have to be repaid.

CBU MERIT SCHOLARSHIPS

CBU offers academic scholarships ranging from $6,000 to $15,000 based on a student’s academic success in his or her high school and college (if applicable). There is no separate application necessary for the CBU Merit Based Scholarships. Students are considered for scholarship upon completing an application—this includes submitting all transcripts, scores, an essay and a letter of recommendation.

These scholarships are awarded once a student is accepted for admission.

Remain a full-time student residing on campus with the required grade point average listed above for the specific scholarship

ENGINEERING AWARD

Christian Brothers University awards academic awards to high achieving engineering majors.

Criteria

A minimum of a 23 ACT composite.
23 ACT Math score.

ALUMNI LEGACY SCHOLARSHIP

Christian Brothers University automatically awards the Alumni Legacy Scholarship to children of CBU alumni.

Children of all Bachelor's and Master's degree graduates of Christian Brothers University

TRUSTEE SCHOLARSHIP

The Trustee Scholarship is the most prestigious academic scholarship available at Christian Brothers University. This merit-based scholarship benefits outstanding students for academic performance.

Scholarship covers full tuition and fees
This scholarship replaces all other academic scholarships awarded from Christian Brothers University

Eligibility
All full-time undergraduate freshmen living in campus housing

Criteria
A minimum high school cumulative GPA of 3.6 and ACT of 26 or SAT of 1760

Application Process

Submit Trustee Scholarship application.
Applicants must participate fully in one Trustee Scholarship Interview Day.
Applicants must be accepted to the university before they will be eligible interview.

Renewable Criteria
Remain a full-time student residing on campus in good standing with a 2.75 college cumulative GPA

CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP

Christian Brothers University automatically awards this scholarship to graduates of a Catholic high school.

MISSISSIPPI RESIDENT SCHOLARSHIP

Christian Brothers University automatically awards this scholarship to incoming freshmen who reside in the State of Mississippi.

ARKANSAS RESIDENT SCHOLARSHIP

Christian Brothers University automatically awards this scholarship to incoming freshmen who reside in the State of Arkansas.

Amount
We match the Arkansas Lottery Scholarship for Arkansas Residents.

All full-time traditional undergraduate freshmen whose permanent residence is in the State of Arkansas.

GADOMSKI TRIANGLE SCHOLARSHIP

Annually, Christian Brothers University and Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity provide a number of Triangle Scholarship Awards for high school seniors who have applied and been accepted to CBU. The awards are designed to encourage academic excellence, foster leadership skills, and enhance the personal development of deserving students in pursuit of their college degrees. Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity invites your application for consideration.

Established by his father, Richard T. Gadomski, this award remembers Gregory Raymond Gadomski, who was initiated as the 70th member of the Pi-Epsilon chapter of TKE on November 20, 1982. As an undergraduate, Greg was an active member of his chapter, serving as a Big Brother to another member, serving on Chapter committees, and planning the Chapter’s annual formal. Greg is remembered by those who knew him as "a kind soul and a good friend" and as being the type of person who was "never ever boring." Greg was recognized by CBU as the recipient of the Distinguished Young Alumnus Award in 1995. This scholarship is given in memory of Greg's love for TKE and CBU. It will recognize one or more incoming students who have demonstrated outstanding achievements in all areas of involvement.

Amount
Awards vary from year to year depending on the applicant pool and availability of funds. Awards can range from $500 to $1000. All awards are made possible through contributions to the Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity-Gregory Raymond Gadomski Memorial Scholarship Endowment Fund.

You need to have already been accepted to CBU to be eligible to apply.

Deadline
The application needs to be received or postmarked by March 1, 2013.

Renewable Criteria
Triangle scholarships are one time awards applied toward CBU tuition and fees.

STATE SCHOLARSHIPS

TENNESSEE HOPE SCHOLARSHIP
The Tennessee HOPE Scholarship is a $4,000 renewable scholarship for Tennessee residents recently graduating from Tennessee high schools and attending Tennessee colleges. Student must have at least a 3.0 high school GPA OR at least a 21 ACT (980 SAT).

The HOPE Scholarship is available to some non-traditional students. To qualify for the non-traditional award, a student must meet the ALL of the following criteria:

25 years of age or older
Adjusted Gross Income (as reported on your income tax form) of $36,000 or less
Not enrolled in college ever or it has been more than two years since you last attended college
Must have maintained continuous enrollment since starting or re-starting college
Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher after attempting 12 hours of college course work
Meet the standard HOPE renewal criteria at each of the state-designated checkpoints.

TENNESSEE HOPE GENERAL ASSEMBLY MERIT SCHOLARSHIP
The Tennesse HOPE General Assemply Scholarship is available to students who have at least a 3.75 high school GPA AND a 29 ACT (1280 SAT).
