Rapid Prototype Lab

Location:
Nolan Engineering Center #238

Faculty Supervisor:
Dr. Paul Shiue

Lab Description:

The Rapid Prototype Lab contains a Dimension 3D Printer which gives students the capability to print an ABS plastic model of an object created in a 3D modeling software package, such as Pro/Engineer. It greatly speeds up the design process from conceptual design to prototype. The maximum object dimensions are 8” x 8” x 10”.

The 3D Mega Capturor DF Digitizer is capable of converting physical objects into solid models. The maximum object is up to half torso.

The NEXTENGINE 3D Scanner captures objects in full color with multi-laser precision. Scan and digitize 3D models and export to formats of other popular design software such as Pro/ENGINEER, SolidWorks, 3ds, Rhino, etc.
