CBU Presents The Jury Room

Memphis – Christian Brothers University (CBU) is pleased to announce The Jury Room by C.B. Gilford as its 2008 spring production in the University Theater beginning April 18 -20. The play is being directed by Linda Dinwiddie.

In The Jury Room, twelve jurors gather to decide the innocence or guilt of a young girl. Eleven jurors say yes. One, a student actress, says no. The jurors agree to her request to re-enact the crime right there. The actress becomes the accused and the foreman her alleged victim. As the re-enactment proceeds, some of the jurors begin to lose themselves in their parts. It is a tense situation, for if the girl did not kill her uncle — who did?

Show times for The Jury Room are Friday, April 18 at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, April 19 at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, April 20 at 2 p.m. Tickets will be sold at the door for $5 general admission, $2 for ANY college student with ID, and $2 for CBU faculty/staff. There will be no reserved seating. For additional information, please email Elizabeth Rosen at encore@cbu.edu. ###
