CBU Rededicates Signaigo Field

Signaigo Field Ribbon CuttingChristian Brothers University rededicated Signaigo Soccer Field on September 15 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Originally dedicated in 1986 and named in honor of the late Joe Signaigo, the soccer field had been closed since November of 2008 as the City of Memphis installed a flood control system under the field.  New irrigation systems and a new scoreboard were also installed, and the light towers were renovated as the field level was lowered by several feet. Attending the ribbon cutting were Stephen J. Signaigo (son), Thelma Pieroni Signaigo (wife of Joe), Sharon Signaigo Thompson (daughter), Janet M. Signaigo (daughter), Dr. Douglas Scarboro, Executive Director of the Office of Talent and Human Capital and Education Liaison for the City of Memphis, John Moore President and CEO of the Greater Memphis Chamber and Dr. John Smarrelli, CBU President.
