CBU Communications & Marketing Wins Vox Award

Vox AwardMemphis—The Communications & Marketing department at Christian Brothers University (CBU) was a winner at the 2010 Vox Awards sponsored by the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Memphis chapter held October 27.

CBU won The Vox Award for its viewbook, “Your Future. Our Tradition.” in the category of Promotional Brochure or Folder. The University was also a finalist in the category of Marketing Communication/Promotion: Services – More than $7,500 for its campaign “Distinguish Yourself” which is targeted to the graduate and professional studies market. 

The Vox Awards are sponsored annually by the Memphis Chapter of PRSA to honor outstanding work by communications professionals from all business sectors: agencies, corporations, media and non-profit organizations. This year’s competition drew more than 100 entries, which were judged by members of the PRSA Little Rock chapter. Judging was based on research, planning/goals/objectives; execution/implementation/budget; and evaluation. Top-level Vox awards and second-place gold certificates were handed out in categories that included brand management, marketing, media relations, public service, social media, and video presentation.

Founded in 1952, by about 10 public relations professionals, today the Memphis chapter counts some 150 members consisting of large corporations, small private companies, consulting firms, nonprofit agencies, educational institutions and freelancers. The Memphis chapter of PRSA hosts numerous educational, professional and social programs throughout the year.
