CBU and Middle College to Shake Things Up with “Schoolhouse Rock Live!”

Memphis- Christian Brothers University’s (CBU) Visual and Performing Arts department has teamed up with Middle College High School to present the musical “Schoolhouse Rock Live!” at the CBU University Theater on April 1-3.

This popular musical is based on the 1970’s Saturday morning cartoon and features well-known tunes such as Conjunction, Junction, I’m Just a Bill and The Great American Melting Pot.  What makes this production unique is that CBU and Middle College will be combining forces to bring great family entertainment to Memphis.

“This is a wonderful mutually beneficial partnership that goes to the core of CBU’s mission of reaching out to the community,” notes Mathew Hamner, visiting assistant professor in the Visual and Performing Arts department. “By working together with Middle College High School to bring this production to the Memphis community, we are able to maximize our resources, both in terms of people and facilities, and provide wholesome family entertainment.”

Show times for “Schoolhouse Rock Live!” are Friday, April 1 at 7:00 p.m.; Saturday, April 2 at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, April 3 at 2:00 p.m. Admission prices are $7.00 for adults and $3.00 for faculty, students and children.   Tickets can be purchased at the door on a first come, first serve basis.
