Nation’s largest educational advertising competition
Memphis- Christian Brothers University (CBU) has been selected as a winner in the Twenty-Seventh Annual Educational Advertising Awards, sponsored by Higher Education Marketing Report. This is the largest educational advertising awards competition in the country.
CBU won Gold for its student orientation t-shirt “Get BUC Wild” in the category of Imprinted Materials. The University also won two Silver awards in the category of Magazine Advertisement/Single and Newspaper Advertisement/Single for its “Distinguish Yourself” and “RN to BSN” ads. Both materials are targeted to the graduate and professional studies (adult) market.
Additionally, CBU won Bronze for its “Distinguish Yourself” billboards in the category of Outdoor Transit/Billboard and earned a Merit for its radio advertisement featuring a voice over by its own CBU student, Mike Burns who is in the MBA program.
“We have an outstanding team in the Communication & Marketing department who bring to work every day creative and unique talents. These awards reflect this talent and professional skills in a competition that highlighted some of the best public relations work by colleges and universities throughout the nation,” notes Elisa Marus, Vice President for Communications & Marketing. “It is among the highest honors to be recognized by experts in the industry but more importantly to be recognized as a leader in our field of higher education.”
Winners are selected for programs and materials that display exceptional quality, creativity and message effectiveness. This year, over 2,900 entries were received from more than 1,000 colleges, universities and secondary schools from all 50 states and several foreign countries.
Eighteen institutions were recognized by the judges as a “Best of Show” winner. Gold awards were granted to 201 schools and silver awards were given to 180 schools. Judges for the Admissions Advertising Awards consisted of a national panel of admissions’ marketers, advertising creative directors, marketing and advertising professionals and the editorial board of Higher Education Marketing Report.
