Christian Brothers University (CBU) named its 2012 “Outstanding Advisor of the Year” and “New Advisor of the Year” at its Community Convocation on August 16. The Dean of Academic Services presents the awards annually to faculty members who go above and beyond to serve as academic advisors to CBU students. Dr. Randel Price, associate professor of chemical and biochemical engineering, was recognized as “Outstanding Advisor of the Year.” The “New Adviser of the Year” award was presented to Dr. James Allen, assistant professor of management, marketing and economics.
“Advising is the most rewarding aspect of my job at CBU,” Allen said. “I am passionate about formulating paths for students to follow. Whether it is developing a study abroad opportunity, securing an internship, applying to graduate school, providing career guidance, or simply creating a course schedule; I thoroughly enjoy this one-on-one time with students.”
