Memphis – Christian Brothers University (CBU) was ranked Number 1 in the first-ever listing of the “Best Lifetime Return on Investment” for colleges in Tennessee by AffordableCollegesOnline.org (ACO). CBU topped the list of 23 schools with its tuition rate of $27,290 per year and largest overall lifetime return on investment of $883,300.
ACO, today’s #1 resource for college affordability and financial aid information, ranked the colleges by the criteria of tuition and fees, graduates’ average starting salaries and ROI calculation, and being a fully accredited, 4-year, not-for-profit institution. The ROI for the 23 colleges was determined based on wage findings from PayScale.com’s 2013 College Earnings Report. Other cost and classification data came from respected sources of the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), Integrated Post-Secondary Education Data System (IPEDS) and the Carnegie Foundation.
CBU graduates enjoy the largest earnings gap between non-degree holders over 30 years, and earn more on average than graduates from other Tennessee schools. At CBU, students are exposed to the real-world learning opportunities through hands-on internships, professional research, jobs, and more. The courses of study are carefully tailored to meet the demands of businesses and the workplace, thus ensuring that a CBU graduate enters the work force with a competitive education and highly sought-after experience. With more than 90 percent of CBU’s recent class employed or attending graduate school within six months of graduation and more than 80 percent of them already possessing jobs or placement in graduate schools on graduation day, CBU’s return on investment is obvious and immediate.
