Myiesha Griffin has been appointed as the Coordinator of External Communications and Social Media at Christian Brothers University (CBU). In this position, Griffin will serve as the primary contact for media representatives and will disseminate media information on behalf of the University with the Senior Director of External Communications and Donor Relations. She will also provide dynamic leadership within the campus community to develop and implement increased digital communications (website and social media) with both internal and external audiences.
Griffin recently completed her Master of Science degree in Corporate and Organizational Communications with a Social Media concentration from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts. She is experienced in crisis, intercultural, and digital communication as well as assessment and social media techniques.
Previously, Griffin worked as Sales and Marketing Manager and social media ninja for Sprint Nextel, where she led a sales team through daily sales activities via intranet communication channels and collateral and marketing distribution. Through social media, she assisted Sprint in reaching the largest pool of demographics possible. Some of her work as a Sprint Certified Social Media Ninja involved working with disgruntled customers and maintaining a positive perception of the brand through direct customer interaction.

Griffin received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast Journalism with a Sociology minor from the University of Memphis.
Griffin will work as part of the organizational restructuring of the Advancement, Communications and Marketing Departments at CBU. In an effort to maintain integrated marketing, communication and fundraising plan and message, and to improve operational efficiency, communications and marketing support will be a component of the External Communications and Donor Relations Unit of the Office of Advancement. Wendy Sumner-Winter will lead this Unit as Senior Director. The Unit includes Cory Dugan as Director of Communication Strategies and Projects, Jacob Edwards as Director of Creative Services, Myiesha Griffin as Coordinator of External Communications and Social Media, and Hannah Evon as the New York Times Scholarship Intern. Eric Opperman, Director of Athletic Communications, will be an auxiliary member of the team, reporting to Stephen Kirkpatrick, Senior Director of Development.
