Trey Casey Named Capital One Academic All-District

MEMPHIS-Christian Brothers University junior guard Trey Casey (Cincinnati, Ohio, La Salle HS) is the lone Gulf South Conference representative on the Capital One Academic All-District 5 Division II team announced by CoSIDA.

Casey carries a perfect 4.0 GPA in Business Administration, and he is the Bucs’ leading scorer at 18.5 points per game. He ranks third in the GSC and 82nd in the nation in scoring. He is shooting 43.2 percent from three-point range, good for 34th in the nation and second in the GSC. His 2.1 steals per game lead the GSC and rank 41st in the nation.

Casey is the Bucs’ first men’s basketball Academic All-District selection. As a first-team All-District selection, he advances to the Capital One Academic All-America ballot.

To be eligible for the Capital One Academic All-District team, student-athletes must carry at least a 3.30 cumulative GPA. Freshmen and first-year transfers are not eligible. South Region members of the College Sports Information Directors Association (CoSIDA) vote for the winners.
