Counseling Center
The primary mission of the Counseling Center is to assist students in accomplishing personal and academic goals by offering opportunities to support and enhance personal growth and development of the whole person especially in emotional, social, physical, and intellectual realms.
What the Counseling Center Offers
A new partnership has been established with Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare, a widely recognized provider, to offer quality and care to our students. All students enrolled at CBU will have access to a licensed mental health licensed provider, offering assistance to the student campus community. Confidential, professional services include personal counseling, crisis counseling/ intervention, personal development seminars, consultation, and referrals.
The University Counseling Center provides face-to-face and some limited virtual session options. The staff will also offer additional programming during the semester for students.
Office Location & Hours
The University Counseling Center is located on the first floor of Stritch Hall. Counseling sessions are available Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, and Thursday from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. Appointments are preferred, but limited walk-in appointments are available.

Phone calls are not answered during counselor sessions, but counselors will promptly return your phone call as soon as possible.
Students have 24-hour access to online appointments.
Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm and Thursday from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm
Walk-ins are limited. The last appointment will be scheduled one hour prior to close.
Students who experiencing a mental health crisis during business hours (M-F 9:00 am-3:00 pm; Thursday 9:00 am – 6:00 pm) and the risk does not seem imminent:
- Contact Health Services at (901) 676-1351, or schedule an online appointment immediately
Students in crisis after-hours and on weekends, including thoughts of suicide and/or self-harm, and the risk seems imminent:.
- Call CBU Police and Safety Office at (901) 321-3550 or,
- Call 911 or,
- Go immediately to the nearest hospital emergency room.
