Welcome, New Buccaneer!

Use this Welcome to CBU Checklist to make sure you’re taking care of all your important business as a student and getting connected to all the resources you need to be successful!

If you have general questions about the CBU Checklist and your preparation for CBU, contact the Division of Student Affairs at orientation@cbu.edu or (901) 321-3531.

Check Your Application Portal and Confirm Your Enrollment

Please log in to your application portal to check your application status and view next steps, if any.

Your application portal is where you’ll commit to CBU, pay your enrollment deposit and/or request a deposit waiver.

Confirm receipt of email with CBU account and credentials.

Without this, you will miss important notifications from CBU offices and staff. Confirm that you are able to log into your CBU email, and start checking your CBU email daily. Check your spam folder since this message sometimes goes there.
Need help? Reach out to Information Technology Services (ITS) at help@cbu.edu or (901) 321-4438. OR fill out a Helpdesk Request Form.

Submit a CBU Health Form and Immunization Record.

TENNESSEE STATE LAW requires all students entering Christian Brothers University to provide documentation showing their immunizations are up-to-date. In addition, you won’t be able to register for a full load of classes until you have a Health Form and Immunization Record on file! Review and complete the CBU Health Form in its entirety.
Need help? Reach out to Student Health Services at health@cbu.edu or (901) 676-1351.

Take Placement Tests (if applicable).

You should take any placement tests needed before registering for classes.
Look out for an email from Justin Smith about Math testing or from writing@cbu.edu about the English evaluation. They will let you know about next steps and how to schedule your placement test(s).
Need help? Reach out to the Office of Admissions at admissions@cbu.edu or (901) 321-3205, or contact your admissions counselor directly.

Confirm the Office of the Admissions has received your high school and other college transcripts.

If we do not have your up-to-date transcripts, you will not be able to register for the appropriate classes. Do you have classes currently in progress? Make sure your transcript is sent electronically as soon as final grades are posted. Be sure to send AP and Dual Enrollment scores. In the meantime, providing an “in progress” report to the Registrar will help you work with your advisor to register for classes.

Apply for On-Campus Housing

Secure a safe and convenient place to live for next year! The sooner a housing agreement is submitted, the greater opportunity to grant room type, roommate, or suitemate preference. Housing agreements and sign-up procedures are available at via your admissions portal.  Please have your login credentials and CBU ID Number available to assist as you complete the agreement.

Confirm your Financial Aid package and what you owe.

Understanding your financial aid package amount and what you owe will help you make a plan for settling your account (an important later step). This includes reviewing your Financial Aid report, understanding the Terms & Conditions, and contacting the Office of Financial Aid with any questions before accepting or declining your awards.
