CBU alumna Yancy Villa (’99, ’01, 06) is a socially engaged artist and civic design consultant who seeks to create
awareness, engage in conversation, and encourage action in spatial justice, civic culture, and
community prosperity. Her work ranges from civic design and public art to urban planning and
activism. She believes in the power of people and focuses on connection – specifically, how to
harness the power of storytelling, culture, and relationships to build and sustain communities
