Christian Brothers University and the Black Student Association are proud to celebrate Black History Month with a dynamic calendar of events honoring the rich history, culture, and contributions of African Americans. Throughout February, we invite the entire CBU community – students, faculty/staff, alumni, to join us for a series of engaging programs, discussions, service projects, and celebrations designed to educate, inspire, and empower.

February 1 | Black Brilliance Bash | 6pm | LLC Lounge
The Black Brilliance Bash promises a remarkable evening of connection and celebration. This cocktail hour-style event brings students and distinguished alumni together in a vibrant, elegant atmosphere designed to inspire and uplift.
Dress to impress in semi-formal attire and embrace the sophistication of our black-and-gold theme. Whether you’re here to network, build new friendships, or simply enjoy the ambiance, the Black Brilliance Bash is the perfect setting to celebrate excellence and shine.
February 1 | Black and Bold Bash | 10pm – 1am | LLC Lounge
You’re invited to an unforgettable night of music, dancing, and fun hosted by the Black Student Association! This event is open to all students, so don’t miss out—beat us there, and we’ll meet you there!
February 10 | Community Service | 12pm – 1:30pm | Binghampton Christian Academy
In collaboration with the Mu Epsilon Chapter, we’ll visit Binghampton Christian Academy to spread love and joy this Valentine’s season. Spending time with the students and creating heartfelt Valentine’s Day cards will make their day extra special!
February 11 | Hygiene Products Donation Drive | 5pm – 7pm | St. Joseph 10
Join BSA as we collect essential hygiene items to help those who are homeless in the local area. All donations are welcome, see the flyer for specific items!
February 12 | Community Service | 6pm | Word Church
Join the Black Student Association as we partner with the Word Church to embody what BUCS do best—serve! Together, we’ll assist the church in creating thoughtful donation packages for some of their elderly members.
February 13 | Donation Packaging | 12:30pm – 2pm | Alfonso Breezeway
Make a meaningful difference in our community helping us assemble care packages with items like toiletries, non-perishable snacks, and other necessities to provide comfort and support. Your time and effort will directly impact lives, spreading hope and kindness to those in need.
February 14 | Black Love Day | 12 pm – 2pm | Alfonzo Breezeway
Immerse yourself in the warmth and camaraderie of the Black Student Association and the men of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.! Treat yourself to a beautiful rose, a symbol of love and support, and take a moment to gather inspiring affirmations that uplift and empower. Celebrate community, self-love, and the beauty of connection!
February 18 | Soul Food Soirée | 6pm | Montesi
Delicious comfort food meets inspiring conversation at this unforgettable Soul Food Soirée.
Feed both your body and soul in an evening full of flavor and insight with a special guest speaker.
February 21 | Radiance in Motion | 7pm | Spain Auditorium
Discover the beauty and creativity of Radiance in Motion, a one-of-a-kind hair and fashion show celebrating Black excellence. Enjoy an unforgettable experience as incredible brands showcase stunning styles and vibrant designs. Come watch, shop, and support this celebration of talent and artistry!
February 27 | Celebration of Black Excellence | 6pm | University Theater
Immerse yourself in the rich tapestry of history and vibrant traditions through a dynamic showcase of performances and artistic expressions honoring the legacy and contributions of African Americans. This event creates a powerful space for reflection, joy, and pride as we come together to celebrate and embrace the beauty of our shared heritage!
