The Department offers Bachelor of Science degrees in Biology and Biomedical Science.

Bachelor of Science in Biology

This degree offers excellent preparation for many different careers, including most of the health careers such as medicine, veterinary medicine, dentistry, optometry, nursing, and physical therapy. It is also a good degree for careers dealing with the environment.

The Biomedical Science degree is a specialized degree tailored to provide the strongest foundation for graduate programs in medicine, dentistry, and veterinary medicine.

Courses

You can choose from a variety of courses including selections in the fields of human, biomedical, organismal, evolutionary, ecological, cellular, and molecular biology. In addition to a strong academic program, CBU offers personalized advising, state of the art lab equipment with a lab component for nearly every course, and small classes. As a major you also have the opportunity to present your laboratory or field research at the annual CBU research poster session and at a scientific meeting. Many CBU students have their research published in academic publications.

Dual Degree with Education

The Department also offers, in conjunction with the CBU Department of Education, a five-year program leading to a Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Science, a Master of Arts in Teaching degree, and teaching licensure for grades 7 through 12.

Students in the Department organize and participate in a variety of activities through CBU’s Mu Tau chapter of Beta Beta Beta, a national undergraduate honor society in the biological field.
