Recycling
Recycling at CBU is done in partnership with ReCommunity. Since the program started in March 2011, CBU has recycled over 50 tons or 100,000 lbs of material. Collection is commingled (single-stream) and receptacles can be found in buildings throughout campus. They are typically located at the end of hallways near exits and stairwells.
Personal recycling from home or the dorms can be placed in the large green dumpster behind O’Hara Hall, off of the East Parkway entrance. Food is the biggest contaminant, so we ask that you please rinse out those cola cans, yogurt containers, etc. If food enters the recycling stream, the entire collection for the week goes to the landfill. Plastic bags are also a big no-no, but the good news is that they can be recycled at Kroger!
