Project management skills have long been recognized as important to the engineering and development sides of all organizations. Recently, however, the business industry is realizing that the planning and action skills necessary in project management are applicable in all areas of the organization.

From 2010 to 2020, as the profession grows by over US$6.6 trillion, the global economy is seeing 15.7 million new project management roles created in seven project-intensive industries, according to PMI’s 2013 Project Management Talent Gap Report. Project Management roles are expected to increase by over 13.4 million between 2010 and 2020, numbering more than 41.5 million by 2020. 

Our Graduate Certificate in Project Management prepares students to sit for the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) exam, a professional certification that is offered through the Project Management Institute (PMI). The CAPM designation is recognized by industry professionals as indicating mastery of project management knowledge and best practices.  

Program Highlights

The Graduate Certificate in Project Management (GCPM) is designed for both newcomers who want to gain knowledge and understanding of project management and for veteran project management professionals who want to enhance their skills in this area. 

Students will find the Graduate Certificate in Project Management useful to enter or re-enter the project management job market, to change careers, to prepare for the CAPM® exam, or for advancement in their chosen organization. 

You can complete the full program in 26 weeks (three 8-week courses, with one-week breaks in between). Each of the three courses is three academic credit hours.

Admission Requirements

Admission requirements to the Graduate Certificate in Project Management program are based on an overall evaluation of your educational needs and career objectives. Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
