CBU proudly announces that The National Alumni Board (NAB) of Christian Brothers University has selected Dr. Bevalee Vitali as the 2024 Teaching Excellence Award recipient. She will be formally recognized in the presence of her peers at the Academic Convocation on September 5.

Dr. Bev Vitali has served CBU in many capacities for 22 years. She established and administered the Master of Arts in Executive Leadership program, a degree recognized by the Council of Independent Colleges and Women as Global Leaders for its innovative curriculum. Her professional tenure has also included roles as the MBA Director and the Director of the Center for Ethical Leadership prior to her current role as Director of the Institute for Leadership Development. Additionally, Bev manages the University’s corporate, nonprofit, and governmental talent development initiatives.

In her various roles at CBU, Bev has represented the University by working with many Mid-South organizations, delivering “leadership labs” and management curriculums to the next generation of leaders. LeadingUp, a year-long leadership development program designed and delivered by Bev in partnership with a local nonprofit, earned a top ten LEAD award by HR.com. Dr. Vitali has served on boards including the County Ethics Commission, NEXUS, and Memphis Challenge and is the current board chair for Literacy Mid-South.

One of Dr. Vitali’s students shared that “Bev has a genuine desire to teach the material and its importance to her students’ personal and professional growth. Her passion and care is what makes her so effective.”
