Recent SACSCOC Visit 10.18.24
The following communication was sent to the CBU Community from Brother Chris Englert on October 18, 2024.
We are closer to having our probationary accreditation status lifted by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). Probation for good cause is a temporary sanction that grants CBU a period of time to remedy its financial position. Over the past year, we’ve increased our incoming class, boosted fundraising, and reduced spending, strengthening our finances. Also, our academic status has remained strong throughout, including national recognition for our educational programming.
Representatives of SACSCOC visited campus this week, and we were encouraged by their conversations. We still have some work to do, and we expect to return to full compliance with SACSCOC by this time next year. CBU remains accredited by SACSCOC during this probationary period.
If you have any specific questions about this process, feel free to reach out and schedule a meeting to talk about it in more detail.
Sincerely,
Br. Chris Englert
Interim President, Christian Brothers University
