Ministry Events and Services
Weekly Ministry Events Schedule
CBU Campus Ministry offers a regular schedule of weekly ministry events. All ministry events take place at De La Salle (Stritch) Chapel unless otherwise specified. The Chapel is also open daily from 9:00 am until 9:00 pm for prayer and reflection.
Sunday:
7:30pm – Reconciliation
“In [Christ] we have redemption by his blood, the forgiveness of transgressions, in accord with the riches of his grace.” (Ephesians 1:7)
Reconciliation is a Catholic Sacrament in which the priest, acting in the person of Jesus as well as the Church, hears an individual’s sins and offers God’s mercy. Come experience the healing and freedom that God longs to give you! Campus Ministry is happy to talk with anyone who has questions, but you can also find more answers here.
You may also reach out to our chaplain, Fr. Bruce (rcinqueg@cbu.edu), to set up a personal meeting time.
8:00pm – Sunday Mass
“Jesus said to them, ‘I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me will never hunger, and whoever believes in me will never thirst.’” (John 6:35)
The celebration of the Eucharist, especially on Sunday, is the source and summit of the Christian life. Encountering Jesus in Word and Sacrament at Mass fuels us to make it through the week and share God’s love with others; similarly, our entire week points back to the worship of the One in whose image and likeness we are made. Please join us in prayer!
Catholics believe that the Eucharist is literally the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ. To receive Holy Communion at a Catholic Mass means that one assents to all the teachings of the Catholic Church, including the Real Presence of Jesus in what appears to be bread and wine. For that reason, only Catholics who are in a state of grace may receive the Blessed Sacrament. Please do not let that discourage you from attending — all are invited to participate
9:00pm – Fellowship @ Stritch Dining Hall in Lambert Hall
Join Campus Ministry after Sunday Mass to eat some food and make some friends! Each week, someone from the community (i.e. faculty, staff, students, the Brothers, or friends of the university) buys or prepares some light refreshments. Come munch and mingle!
Monday:
12:00pm – Daily Mass
Like Sunday Mass but shorter! For a daily Mass, the structure of a typical Sunday Mass is followed, but there are fewer readings and prayers and less (or no) music. These usually finish in about 30 minutes. While Catholics are not obligated to attend a weekday Mass as they are a Sunday Mass, this is a great way to take a break from the busyness of the day and re-focus on God.
12:30 – 1:30pm – Eucharistic Adoration
“Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)
Eucharistic Adoration is a type of prayer in which the Eucharist – a former host that has been changed literally into Jesus Christ – is placed on the altar to be worshiped through quiet, personal prayer. For Catholics, this is secondary to receiving Communion at Mass, but it still plays an important role in cultivating a a healthy spirituality and a relationship with Jesus. Catholics and non-Catholics alike find the hour of silence to be peaceful and restorative, especially in the midst of a busy schedule. Find out more about Eucharistic Adoration here. Even if you can only pop in for five minutes, come and look at Jesus, and let Jesus look at you.

8:00pm – Praise and Worship
This is our weekly ecumenical service, meaning it is open for all Christian believers (though non-Christians are always welcome to come participate in this evening of prayer). We sing a few contemporary Christian praise songs, break open a Scripture passage, hear a reflection by a student, faculty, or staff member, and pray in community. It is very low-key but very spiritually-filling – come pray with us!

3:30 – 4:00pm – PB&J Day @ Alfonso Dining Hall in the Thomas Center
Some people call it Wednesday, we call it PB&J Day! Join us nearly every Wednesday at 3:00 pm in Alfonso Dining Hall to make sandwiches for the St. Mary Soup Kitchen. This is a simple way for us to participate in feeding the hungry, and it’s fun!

After a long week, come get some fresh air with Campus Ministry as we toss a frisbee around Nolan Field. All skill levels are welcome – you might even learn some new throws!
Saturday:
10:30am – Coffee with Christ @ Stritch Lounge
Get your fill of caffeine and Scripture as we unpack the upcoming Sunday’s Gospel. This is a low-key environment of faith-sharing so – you guessed it – all are welcome! Feel free to bring your own Bible or borrow one of ours. Sometimes we also have donuts or other fun pastries – come ready to be nourished physically and spiritually!
